The Energy Service participates in European projects aiming at further penetration of RES and cooperation between academics and technocrats. The research projects are the following:
Smart and green development of the infrastructure of the electricity system of Cyprus. Large socio-economic impact throughout the country through the application of ICT technologies to critical infrastructure systems.
Use of hydrogen as an energy storage medium. Generation of possible scenarios for the development of storage systems throughout Cyprus. It will help further penetration of RES.
Improving the efficiency of Cypriot research and innovation through research activities in the field of electricity, infrastructure and RES development. It aims, in particular, at the development of large-scale photovoltaic systems and their integration into the electricity system.
Research into the use of hydrogen, produced by electrolysis of water, in public buses and other means of transport (e.g. heavy vehicles, ships, etc.)
